The technologies obtained through the development of the SL-1200 series and the high-end SL-1000R model are richly integrated into the motor drive unit, an important part of the record player. The motor tunes the single-rotor cordless direct-drive motor adopted from the SL-1200GR to read the recording's high-rotation precision and high-precision signals. Optimal motor control is carried out for the inertial mass of the two-layer structure plate on which the vinyl record is placed with damping rubber on the entire surface of the back to eliminate unwanted resonance in the aluminum casting plate and thus prevent irregular rotation, also known as gearing. The aluminum die-cast chassis is tightly integrated with a special material consistency of ABS mixed with fiberglass to create a two-layer construction. The isolator consists of a spring and rubber to ensure optimal, characteristic vibration damping. The tonearm has a universal S-shape with static balance, also a Technics tradition. By adopting a high-precision bearing using the same gimbal structure and housing as the SL-1200 series, high initial sensitivity is achieved. In addition, reliability has been improved by integrating a removable power cable and gold-plated connectors, which ensure less loss of sound quality for the PHONO and LINE connections.

To enjoy analog record playback even more comfortably, the SL-1500C includes a built-in phono equalizer and bundled cartridge. You don't have to prepare one separately, making it easy to connect to a wide variety of audio equipment. The shield structure of the built-in phono equalizer suppresses the effects of external noise and power supply noise. It is also equipped with a switch to turn off the LINE output when not in use. The record player is designed in such a way that adverse effects from the PHONO output are excluded. The dedicated power supply for the PHONO output connection is isolated from the power supply for the LINE output connection, and is designed to prioritize sound quality by minimizing wiring of the PHONO signal. The isolated outputs also prevent incorrect wiring. For the bundled cartridge, an Ortofon 2M RED cartridge, which is highly praised as an MM cartridge, has been selected. Combining this high-quality cartridge with the performance of the SL-1500C will maximize the sound quality of vinyl records.

Once the tonearm reaches the end of the record, the auto lifter function will automatically raise the cartridge. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on your valuable vinyl records and needle. By integrating the auto lifter function into the base of the tone arm, effects on the tone arm are eliminated. Thanks to a simple design that uses no motor power, there is no electrical or vibration impact and the tonearm's movement is not restrained. In response to many requests from many users regarding the auto lifter function, a design has been chosen that prioritizes sound quality. The functions required to play records have been kept to a minimum, making the device simple and easy to use.
